It seemed overnight that his chest wall was concave. After taking him to his doctor, she wanted for him to be seen by a specialist. After a few phone calls to our local hospitals, it became apparent that this wasn't a procedure that was done often and in one case I was told that this was NOT a medical procedure but cosmetic. After a search on the internet, we found Cincinnati Children's. Honestly, from the start of our first conversation until post-surgery I spoke with the same two nurses (Aimee & Kristin) via phone or email. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. They helped us every step of the way. Some of our pre-surgical tests were done in our home state. It made it a challenge but with there help, we were able to get the tests that they needed before the tests could be submitted to insurance for approval.
