Best hospital ever. From the way I was treated to the food to the nurses---I can't say enough good things about this hospital. I was 25 at the time of my procedure but they told me they did up to 27 and that they considered taking patients up to 30s and 40s as well. Being that it is a Children's Hospital, there were a few minor grievances, such as my parents originally getting the bill, mail always being addressed to "the parent of guardian" of myself, etc. But nothing really that earned more than a passing laugh. I loved the food choices---hamburgers, pizza, grilled cheese; all those kid comfort foods that feel good to you when you are sick. The nurses on our floor had 3 patients each so I was given lots of good care.

I highly recommend Dr. Kuhn and CHKD!

The surgery was so much better than we expected- very smooth and my sons chest looks awesome. We loved Dr. Kelly. The hospital was good, the nurses were either understaffed or had other patients that needed more attention because we did a lot of things ourselves. That was ok because we were there anyway. The night nurse, Dana, was the best nurse we've ever had-she was incredible! They have perfected there pain management!
The food was not very good and the ordering system needs to be revamped- we rarely got what we ordered. Overall a great hospital and very obvious that they have done this surgery over 1000 times!

They allowed us to sleep in the room that had a pull out sleeper. Both parents can stay the night, but there is really only room for one. The only complaint is with the food. There is an adjoining hospital that has a much better cafeteria. The hospital is located in a very good location, the historic downtown Norfolk area. Within walking distance, there are varied local restaurants and cafes etc..Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were very happy with the overall experience and highly recommend them. They do have an age limit being that it basically a pediatric hospital, which may be 25
