Dr. Dawn Jaroszewski

I was not comfortable with my first recommended surgeon. Through research and investigation found Dr. J. She is absolutely amazing along with her whole team. Her knowledge and pain management is by far the best! I had another issue she took care of that did not relate to pectus and that also impressed me. She cares about you as a whole human being! My heart did act up as my right side of my heart was inflated like a balloon and I also came in with a blood clot on my heart. She is amazing. I like to think that between her and God she saved my life! She had a cancelation in May and I took it. She and her team are so caring and responsive to all your needs. I highly recommend Dr. Jaroszewski. I truly can't even express my gratitude in words. Mayo has fabulous staff and I was well taken care of throughout my stay.

My wife and I are from Minnesota, and we both did not feel completely comfortable with the surgeon there correcting my wife’s pectus. We started doing some investigating, and we came upon Dr. Jaroszewski. We came down for an appointment in February, and appointment in March, and had the procedure done May 15. My wife and I had a lot of questions, and Doctor Jaroszewski took time to listen to us and answer them. She was honest with us about the procedure. She also told us they have one of the best pain medication regiments for this procedure, which was obviously one of our concerns. The doctor, her nursing staff, and the staff at the hospital during our stay after the procedure were all absolutely amazing. My wife was really limited in her aerobic and cardiovascular abilities before this procedure. My wife’s condition before the procedure was really starting to have an effect on everything she did in life, from playing with our kids, to just taking a shower. We are confident that this surgery will help fix those problems. There is nothing about the doctor or her staff that should be rated anything less than 10. She is a wonderful human being, has a great sense of humor, and was very approachable and easy to talk to. We traveled across the country for this procedure, and I would highly suggest anybody come to Phoenix to see Dr. Jaroszewski.

Dr. Jaroszewski is a saint!

She changed my life. After having surgery all I want to do after having this surgery is go down the path of medicine and specialize in her field and maybe work for her some day and be there to support others with Pectus. She more than corrected my lifelong struggle with Pectus Excavatum, but she inspired me to be a better person than I ever imagined. She is incredibly kind, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Her staff is just as great! They help you through all the steps!

I did benefit from living locally, so I can see her post-op if needed sooner instead of later. Be prepared to wait a few months to get an appointment for evaluation, and surgery can be 2-3+ months out. Like I said, I live locally and was able to get in sooner on a waitlist. It can be 3 months or more before surgery. It is well worth the wait!!!! Quality over quickness is important, do not rush yourself to be with a less experienced surgeon.

If Dr. Jaroszewski sees this or reads this, thank you so very much for saving my life. I also suffer from a huge psychological struggle and have battled depression for years. My body image issues are so much better, but I feel a lifetime of being self-conscious prior to surgery will not resolve my body dysmorphic disorder and how I see myself anytime soon.

If you have Pectus do not wait, get a CT Scan, Pulmonary Function Testing, Echocardiogram, and EKG's because that's what you will need before surgery. I know traveling for surgery is a burden, but Mayo Clinic is best and Dr. J should be the face of Mayo if she is not already.

What can I say about Dr. J that hasn't already been said? She's incredibly good at dealing with Pectus Excavatum. She's compassionate, knowledgeable, articulate, confident, and yet down to earth and easy to speak with at the same time. She performed a very difficult Nuss revision on me after another doctor had done a poor job. The results were amazing. I feel so much better at this stage than I did after the first surgery, it's truly night and day. Granted it's still early (My revision with Dr. J was just three weeks ago), but I have no reason to be anything but optimistic so far. Most importantly, the compression I had on my heart and lungs still after the first surgery seems to be 100% resolved with Dr. J's revision. She is simply an amazing doctor and human being. Her staff is excellent also (especially Mike!). I cannot thank her enough, and I look forward to dealing with her again in three years for my bar removal. Thank you Dr. J!
