Teenager, 17, dies after surgery to correct sunken hollow in her chest

‘She was witty and bright and she had a lovely boyfriend and lots of friends."

Very tragic story here (happened in 2012, but posted Sept 29, 2014). This is proof that 1) Nuss is a very serious surgery any way you cut it 2) you need to get lots of recommendations on your surgery team before Nuss and 3) even experienced surgeons can have unfortunate results.  

If you're considering Nuss, please do your homework and find a team that has a lot of experience with the latest techniques. Also understand that this type of complication is extremely rare.
