Let me see where do I start. Dr. Obermeyer was our second opinion Dr. and I can not say enough positive things about him. If you want an amazing Dr. that knows everything there is to know about the Nuss procedure then he is your guy. When having something like this done, specially to your child to me the most important thing is knowledge and experience. At CHKD they definitely have that. Dr. Obermeyer answered all my questions with ease helped us to feel more comfortable with the entire experience. While at our consultation Dr. Obermeyer felt that my sons chest would probably not look perfect because of the rotation of his sternum. We were all pleasantly surprised to find that he got the chest to look fantastic! Its perfect in my eyes! My son did so well that we were released on the 2nd day and off all pain meds by day 6. I don't think that would have been possible without the wisdom of Dr. Obermeyer. He believes in keeping it simple and I 100% believe that is what helped my son and his speedy recovery. We actually had a 7 hour drive home to Pennsylvania and Dr. Obermeyer made sure we had means to contact him in case of emergency. We are now 4 weeks post op and my son is doing fantastic couldn't have done it without Dr. Obermeyer and I would recommend him to anyone that is thinking about surgery well worth the drive.
