Dr. Klaus Schaarschmidt

On September 1st 2017, i flew to Berlin to LITERALLY change my life ! I’m A 16 yo. Girl From Saudi Arabia who had pectus excavatum for like 5 years with about 5.8 Haller Index.
this year I discovered professor Klaus Schaarschmidt in this very website ! I saw all the positive reviews about him so i didn’t hesitate to pick him for my case.
On September 5 i had to go to the hospital and stay there because the next day will be the big day (and because they wanted to explain everything that i’m going to go through and do some x-rays).
On September 6 at 8 AM i was anesthetized for the surgery, at 12 PM i woke up to a whole new chest and a whole new life feeling better than ever ! Can’t forget to mention that the Professor was right next to me when i woke up which is a very nice thing from him to do, he’s honestly the most fun and humble person ever !
My Experience was very very good with him and the cosmetic result is MIND BLOWING, and about the pain i would seriously rate it 2 out of 10 ! Seriously nothing really painful at all which is really shocked me.
Always remember the key to success is to believe in yourself and that you CAN do it, because you really can, always remember that you should never be afraid to change your life, because it was honestly a decision that I’m extremely proud of and extremely happy that i made.

A life changing experience that I can happily talk about.
I developed pectus excavatum at the age of 12 and I noticed it when I was 14. That was the moment I started to worry about my physical apperance.
For 4 years I tried to fix my PE without a surgery.
Hundreds of hours of swimming and gym sessions didn’t make any difference. At 18 years old I started considering the surgery. I found on the internet that Dr  Schaarschmidt

After having a recurrence of pectus after a failed Ravitch surgery in my home country 4 years ago, I decided to get surgery again and this time I wanted the greatest expert in Pectus excavatum to perform it. After some years of research I decided to do it in Berlin by Prof. Schaarschmidt.. Although it's only been a week since the surgery I can say I am really satisfied with the cosmetic result, but the most important part is that now my lungs have more space to work properly and improve my pulmonary capacity, which will improve my health immensely. After the surgery during the first days it can be really painful and uncomfortable, but every day I feel better and better and it has only been a week. I completely recommend this surgeon.

7 years ago I started developing a chronic cough. I also started having each winter pneumonia. My pulmonary physician prescribed several treatments, even for asthma, but nothing worked. One day I was really desperate because of the cough, so I searched online and found out that chronic cough often is a symptom of PE, which I have.

The surgery went as planned and I had huge pain only the first night. I started with physio the second day and after 14 days I could fly home.
I continued with physio and from there everything went better and better.
My chronic cough is gone, which was the main reason for the surgery, and I am also happy that my hole in the chest is gone. The bars don't disturb me and I can do whatever I like.
Overall I have to say, this decision was a life changing experience!
